Who we are

Sikhi resources, made by Sikh parents.

Maastarji (ਮਾਸਟਰ ਜੀ) means "respected teacher." We're a small team of Sikh parents, educators, and volunteers building free English-language Sikhi learning resources for diaspora families.

A Sikh child learning Gurmukhi with Maastarji

Who we are

Maastarji was born from a simple question that many Sikh parents in the diaspora wrestle with: How do we pass on our faith and heritage to our children in a way that actually sticks?

Family helps. Sangat at Gurdwara Sahib helps. But we wanted something more — resources families could use at home, in English so they're accessible, but rooted in our traditions. So we started building them.

Today Maastarji is built by a team of parents, teachers, and volunteers who share a passion for making Sikhi learning joyful and accessible for the next generation.

Who we serve

Diaspora Sikh families — in Toronto, London, NJ, the Bay Area, Melbourne, and everywhere else our kids are growing up far from Panjab. Maastarji is for the parent reading at bedtime, the Sunday-school teacher prepping a lesson, the dadi-ji video-calling from Jalandhar, and the kids themselves — ages 4 to 12.

For kids

Books, games, coloring, quizzes — built for short attention spans and real retention.

For parents

Guides in plain English, conversation prompts, and printable activities for home learning.

For educators

Lesson-ready printables and CC-BY-NC-SA licensed materials for Khalsa schools and Sunday programs.

How we work

  • Reviewed by Sikh practitioners. Every story is written and edited by practising Sikhs — not outsiders looking in.
  • Kindle & Gumroad available. If you'd like to own a copy or support the work, books are also available on Amazon Kindle and Gumroad.
  • CC BY-NC-SA 4.0. Use it in your Khalsa school or gurdwara program — no permission needed.
