Baba Ajit Singh & Baba Jujhar Singh — courage in battle

December 1704. Guru Gobind Singh Ji and a small band of Sikhs were surrounded at the fortress of Chamkaur, vastly outnumbered. Baba Ajit Singh, the eldest son, was around eighteen years old. He asked his father for permission to go and fight. The Guru embraced him, applied a tilak to his forehead, and sent him out with a smile — because he had raised his sons to see death in seva not as loss, but as the highest blessing. Baba Jujhar Singh, the second son, followed his elder brother into battle with the same quiet courage. Both attained shaheedi that day, and their names are recited in Ardas by Sikhs around the world at every prayer.

Today's idea

The two elder sons of Guru Gobind Singh Ji went into battle with joy in their hearts — because they had been raised to give everything in service of Waheguru.
