Week 6 · Gurbani by meaning · Day 39

Shabad — when we serve, we find the Creator

Sewa — selfless service — is at the heart of Sikh practice. The Guru Granth Sahib Ji teaches again and again that true prayer is not only words but action: hands that serve, feet that go to those in need, a heart that gives without expecting anything back. Today’s line from Guru Ram Das Ji tells us that those who serve the Lord find peace — and that without service, the heart grows restless and hollow. Sewa is how we bring Gurbani alive.

Today's idea

Gurbani says that sewa — selfless service — is one of the highest forms of prayer, and that when we serve others, we serve the Creator.

Pick two or three — there's no wrong way to do a day.
