There was once a sweet little girl who wore a bright red cape with a hood. Everyone called her Little Red Riding Hood.

The wolf ran ahead on quick, quiet paws. He reached Grandmother's cottage first and slipped inside. Then he hid Grandmother safely in the cupboard and jumped into her bed, pulling the blankets up high.

When Little Red Riding Hood arrived, she peeked at the figure in the bed. "Grandmother, what big eyes you have!"
"ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਚੰਗੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇਖਣ ਲਈ," ਬਘਿਆੜ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ।
"All the better to see you with," said the wolf.
"ਦਾਦੀ ਮਾਂ, ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਕਿੰਨੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਦੰਦ ਹਨ!"
"Grandmother, what big teeth you have!"
"ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਚੰਗੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ—" ਪਰ ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਪੂਰਾ ਕਰ ਪਾਉਂਦਾ, ਲਾਲ ਪਰੀ ਨੇ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਬਘਿਆੜ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਸਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਵੱਡੀ ਚੀਕ ਮਾਰੀ।
"All the better to—" but before he could finish, Little Red Riding Hood saw it was the wolf and gave a great shout.

The wolf yelped and bolted out the window, running deep into the forest, and he never came back.

The woodcutter opened the cupboard, and out stepped Grandmother, quite safe and sound. They all sat down together and shared the bread and honey.
"ਧੰਨਵਾਦ," ਦਾਦੀ ਮਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, ਆਪਣੀ ਪੋਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਗਲੇ ਲਗਾ ਕੇ। ਉਸ ਦਿਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ, ਲਾਲ ਪਰੀ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਰਸਤੇ 'ਤੇ ਰਹੀ ਅਤੇ ਜੰਗਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਅਜਨਬੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀ।
"Thank you," said Grandmother, hugging her granddaughter close. From that day on, Little Red Riding Hood always kept to the path and never spoke to strangers in the woods.
