, ਸਨੋਅ ਵ੍ਹਾਈਟ ਨਾਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ । ਉਸ ਵਾਲ ਵਰਗੇ -ਸਿਆਹ ਗੱਲ੍ਹਾਂ ਗੁਲਾਬ ਫੁੱਲਾਂ ਵਰਗੀਆਂ । , ਦਿਲ ਚੰਗੀ ।
Once upon a time there was a princess named Snow White, with hair as dark as night and cheeks as pink as roses. She was as kind as she was lovely.
ਉਸ ਮਤਰੇਈ , , ਬੜੀ ਹੰਕਾਰੀ ਸੜਦੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ । ਜਾਦੂਈ ਵੇਖ , "ਸ਼ੀਸ਼ਿਆ ਵੇ ਸ਼ੀਸ਼ਿਆ, ਦੁਨੀਆ ?"
But her stepmother, the queen, was proud and jealous. Each day she gazed into her magic mirror and asked, "Mirror, mirror, who is fairest of them all?"
ਚਿਰ ਸ਼ੀਸ਼ਾ ਇਹੋ ਕਹਿੰਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ, " ਜੀ, ।" ਸ਼ੀਸ਼ਾ ਬੋਲਿਆ, "ਸਨੋਅ ਵ੍ਹਾਈਟ ।" ਇਹ ਸੁਣ ਗੁੱਸੇ ਸਾੜੇ ਨਾਲ ਪੀਲਾ ਪੈ ।
For a long time the mirror answered, "You, my queen." But one morning it said, "Snow White is fairest of them all." The queen's face turned green with envy.
ਸਨੋਅ ਵ੍ਹਾਈਟ ਘਣੇ ਜੰਗਲ ਗਈ। ਉਸ ਨਿੱਕੀ ਕੁਲੀ , ਨਿੱਕੀਆਂ-ਨਿੱਕੀਆਂ ਨਿੱਕੇ-ਨਿੱਕੇ ਮੰਜੇ ਡਹੇ ਹੋਏ । ਥੋੜ੍ਹੀ ਦੇਰ ਹੱਸਮੁੱਖ ਆ ਗਏ!
Frightened, Snow White ran deep into the forest. There she found a tiny cottage with seven little chairs and seven little beds. Soon home came seven cheerful dwarfs!
" ਕਿੰਨੇ ਸਾਂਭਿਆ ?" ਹੈਰਾਨ ਬੋਲੇ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਨੋਅ ਵ੍ਹਾਈਟ ਵੇਖਿਆ, ਬੜੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲੇ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ , "ਤੂੰ ਕੋਲ ਰਹਿ, ਤੈਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਆਂਚ ਆਉਣ ਦੇਵਾਂਗੇ।"
"Who has tidied our house?" they cried. When they found Snow White, they welcomed her warmly. "Stay with us," they said, "and we will keep you safe."
ਸਨੋਅ ਵ੍ਹਾਈਟ ਪਕਾਉਂਦੀ ਗੀਤ , ਤੇ ਦੂਜੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਚਮਕੀਲੇ ਹੀਰੇ-ਮੋਤੀ ਲੱਭਣ ਖਾਣਾਂ ਪੁੱਟਦੇ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਿੱਕੀਆਂ ਕੁਲਹਾੜੀਆਂ -- ਚੱਲਦੀਆਂ ਰਹਿੰਦੀਆਂ।
Snow White cooked and sang while the dwarfs dug for shining gems. Tap, tap, tap went their little picks all day long.
ਸਾੜੂ ਲੱਗ ਸਨੋਅ ਵ੍ਹਾਈਟ ਹੋਈ । ਧੋਖੇ ਨਾਲ ਸਨੋਅ ਵ੍ਹਾਈਟ ਗੂੜ੍ਹੀ ਸੁਆ ।
But the jealous queen learned where Snow White was hiding. One day she came in disguise and tricked Snow White into a deep, deep sleep.
ਉਸ ਇੰਝ ਬੇਸੁੱਧ ਪਈ ਵੇਖ ਅੱਥਰੂ ਵਹਿ ਤੁਰੇ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਸ ਬੜੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਨਾਲ ਹਰੇ-ਭਰੇ ’ਤੇ ਲਿਟਾਇਆ - ਉਸ ਕਰਨ ।
The dwarfs wept to find her so still. They laid her gently in the meadow and watched over her, day and night.
ਨੇਕਦਿਲ ਘੋੜੇ ’ਤੇ । ਉਸ ਸਨੋਅ ਵ੍ਹਾਈਟ ਨੇਕੀ ਹੋਇਆ । ਉਸ ਅੱਗੇ ਵਧ ਉਸ , ਉਸ ਪਿਆਰ ਭਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਸਨੋਅ ਵ੍ਹਾਈਟ ਝਮਕਾ ਖੋਲ੍ਹ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ। ਪਈ !
Then one morning a kind prince rode by. He had heard of Snow White's goodness. He took her hand, and at his gentle touch, Snow White's eyes fluttered open. She was awake!
ਵੇਖਿਆ ਉਸ ਉਲਟੀ ਪੈ ਗਈ , ਸ਼ਰਮ ਮਾਰੀ ਪਾਰ ਗਈ, ਮੁੜ ਕਿਸੇ ਨਾ ਦਿਸੀ।
When the queen saw that her trick had failed, she was so ashamed that she fled far away over the mountains, and was never seen again.
ਸਨੋਅ ਵ੍ਹਾਈਟ ਸੱਤਾਂ ਗਲਵੱਕੜੀ ਪਾ । ਰਲ਼-ਮਿਲ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀ-ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀ ।
Snow White and the prince thanked the seven dwarfs with hugs all round. And everyone lived happily ever after.
