Punjabi poems for kids
Short poems in Gurmukhi with English beside every line. Read them aloud, learn a few words, and talk about what the poet saw.
Free printables — plus a letter for Sikh parents
New tracing sheets, coloring pages and printables land through the year, and I write a weekly letter for parents raising Sikh children far from Punjab. Both free, no spam.

Frequently asked questions
- Are these poems in Punjabi and English?
- Yes. Every poem is shown line by line in Gurmukhi with an English translation underneath. You can switch to Gurmukhi only, or show a Roman (transliterated) line so children who cannot yet read Gurmukhi can still say the words aloud.
- Who are the poets?
- We share poems by Punjabi poets, used with permission or because they are in the public domain. Each poem page names the poet and says how the text is used.
- What age are the poems for?
- Each poem lists a suggested age. They are meant to be read aloud together: short enough to repeat, with a few words to learn and questions to talk about afterwards.
