, ' ਚਰਾਉਂਦਾ । , ।
There was once a young shepherd boy who watched the sheep on a hill. It was a quiet job, and the boy was bored.
, , ਰੌਲਾ , "! ! !"
One day, just for fun, he shouted, "Wolf! Wolf! A wolf is chasing the sheep!"
ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ' ਆਏ। । । ਖਿੜਖਿੜਾ , " ਬਣਾਇਆ!"
The villagers heard him and came running up the hill to help. But there was no wolf. The boy laughed and laughed. "I tricked you!" he giggled.
, । , "! !" ਵਾਲੇ ' । , ।
The next day, the boy did it again. "Wolf! Wolf!" he cried. Again the villagers ran up the hill. Again there was no wolf, and again the boy laughed.
, , ਜੰਗਲ ਚੁੱਪਚਾਪ । ।
But then, one evening, a real wolf crept out of the forest. It ran toward the sheep.
, "! ! ਕਰੋ! ਸੱਚਮੁੱਚ !"
"Wolf! Wolf!" the boy cried out. "Please help! There really is a wolf!"
ਵਾਲਿਆਂ , ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਹਿਲਾਏ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ , " ।" ।
The villagers heard him, but they shook their heads. "He is only tricking us again," they said. And no one came.

The boy learned a hard lesson that day.
