ਕੀੜੀ ਅਤੇ ਟਿੱਡਾ

ਸਾਰੀ ਗਰਮੀ ਇੱਕ ਨਿੱਕੀ ਜਿਹੀ ਕੀੜੀ ਬੜੀ ਮਿਹਨਤ ਕਰਦੀ ਰਹੀ। ਉਹ ਬੀਜ ਅਤੇ ਦਾਣੇ ਇੱਕ-ਇੱਕ ਕਰਕੇ ਚੁੱਕ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰ ਲੈ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਰਹੀ।

All summer long, a little Ant worked hard. She carried seeds and grain back to her home, one tiny piece at a time.

Nearby, a Grasshopper played his fiddle and sang in the warm sun. "Why do you work so hard?" he laughed. "Come and play with me!"

"I am storing food for the winter," said the Ant. "Winter is coming, and there will be nothing to eat."

So the Ant worked, and the Grasshopper played. Day after day, she filled her home with food, while he danced in the sunshine.

Then the cold winter came. Snow covered the ground. There were no leaves and no seeds anywhere. The Grasshopper was cold and hungry.

ਉਹ ਕੀੜੀ ਦੇ ਨਿੱਘੇ ਘਰ ਪਹੁੰਚਿਆ। ਅੰਦਰ ਕੀੜੀ ਕੋਲ ਸਾਰਾ ਸਿਆਲ ਲੰਘਾਉਣ ਜੋਗਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰਾ ਖਾਣਾ ਸੀ।

He came to the Ant's warm home. Inside, the Ant had plenty of food to last all winter long.

ਟਿੱਡੇ ਨੂੰ ਪਛਤਾਵਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਵੇਲੇ ਸਿਰ ਮਿਹਨਤ ਕਿਉਂ ਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ।

The Grasshopper was sorry he had not worked when there was still time.
