The four friends had a clever plan. The donkey stood tall, the dog climbed on his back, the cat climbed on the dog, and the rooster perched on top. Then, all together, they sang their loudest song.
ਹਿੰ-ਹਿੰ! ਭੌਂ-ਭੌਂ! ਮਿਆਊਂ! ਕੁੱਕੜ-ਕੂ!
"Hee-haw! Woof! Meow! Cock-a-doodle-doo!"

What a terrible racket it was! The robbers leapt up in fright. "A monster!" they cried, and they ran out the door and far, far away into the night.
