Guru Angad Dev Ji shaped and shared the Gurmukhi script so ordinary people — not just scholars — could read the Guru’s words. Every letter you trace this summer is his gift.

The second Guru gave us Gurmukhi — the script we read Gurbani in.

Go & do it Write the first letter, ੳ (Oora), big on paper with a finger or crayon. Then "write" it in the air, in sand, or in flour.

Talk together
Ask: "Guru Angad gave letters to everyone, not just a few. Why is it special that anyone can learn to read?"
Younger kids: trace one letter. Older kids: trace the first three (ੳ ਅ ੲ).
